Whiskey Peach Homemade BBQ Sauce

June 03, 2016

Our down home Georgia-grown take on a Texas-style BBQ sauce. Thick and sticky with a nice sweet, yet tangy flavor that will have you coming back for more.  Try this with ribs, grilled chicken, or add it to our party meatball recipe for an added twang and flavor.

Instructions

  1. Add the butter to a large saute pan & heat over med-high heats
  2. When butter is almost melted add half the brown sugar and the peaches.
  3. Stir, as peaches begin to soften (3-4 minutes) add the orange juice concentrate and stir.
  4. Cook slowly and gently mash peaches as the cook. Continue to stir so that nothing burns.
  5. Once the sugar starts to bubble and caramelize add the vanilla and carefully add the whiskey
  6. May want to turn burner off while adding whiskey but turn back on and continue to cook until everything is thickened and peaches are very soft.
  7. In medium size heat resistant bowl mix ketchup and the remaining sugar and paprika.
  8. After blending well, pour into peach mixture.
  9. Stir to combine. Sauce can be left chunky or blend until smooth.
  10. Use now or store covered in fridge for up to 2 weeks.
