Georgia Peach Bread

This bread is really a testament to Dickey Farms, with it featuring our two biggest crops it is sure to please. The juicy taste of peaches paired with the crunch of our pecans is a wonderful combination in this bread.

Instructions

  1. Place peaches and 6 Tbsp sugar in container of electric blender, process until pureed. Mixture should yield about 2 1/4 cups.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, soda, salt, and cinnamon, set aside.
  3. Combine 1 1/2 cups sugar and shortening, cream well. Add eggs and mix well.
  4. Add peach puree and dry ingredients, mixing until ingredients are moistened.
  5. Stir in nuts and vanilla.
  6. Spoon batter in 2 greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pans. Bake at 325 for 55-66 minutes or until done.
  7. Cool in pan, turn out on rack.
